01The problem

Certify Skills Australia needed a public site that converts, not just informs. A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) service depends on visitors understanding a multi-step qualification journey — eligibility, evidence, assessment, outcome — and acting on it instead of bouncing. The catalogue also had to span a wide range of industries without turning into an unreadable list, and the whole site needed to build enough trust that a stranger would hand over their contact details for a real qualification pathway.

02What we built

  1. 01

A public-facing RPL funnel built around a clear eligibility CTA, contact capture and industry-specific course selection paths, so a visitor's next action is always obvious.

  2. 02

A site structure that mirrors the real RPL journey — eligibility check, evidence review, RTO assessment and qualification outcome — so the funnel teaches the process instead of hiding it behind marketing copy.

  3. 03

A broad course catalogue organised across industries — community services, business, automotive, plumbing, health, hospitality, ICT, construction, logistics and more — grouped so visitors can scan to their own field fast.

  4. 04

Trust-building content across benefits, FAQs, business details, contact channels and social links, so visitors get enough proof and detail to act without leaving the site to go verify the business elsewhere.

05The hard part

The hard part wasn't the build — it was the information architecture. RPL is a process most visitors have never heard of, so the site had to teach the eligibility → evidence → assessment → outcome journey while still reading as a conversion funnel and not a government explainer page. Every page had to answer "am I eligible" within a few seconds or the visitor would leave.

The second decision was how to structure the course catalogue. A flat list across ten-plus industries reads as noise, so courses were grouped by industry with clear pathways in and out, keeping the eligibility CTA visible from every entry point rather than buried three clicks deep in a generic course directory.
